GE has officially discontinued the George T shirt, which had been a popular staple for years.
The George T, a replica of George’s famous jacket, was discontinued in 2017, but GE continues to offer shirts with the George image, which is the one in the photo above.GE said it will continue to sell the George shirt online, in stores, and at select online retailers, and it will make shirts available at select locations across the country beginning on Wednesday, March 1.GE’s original George T is a $60 shirt with a “Geo” imprint on the chest, a neck collar, and a red “GE” logo on the right sleeve.
The original George shirts had a collar-to-collar design and were discontinued in 2020.
In the new George T design, the collar has a “GE,” “G” logo, and “T” logo at the bottom of the collar.
The shirts also have a “T-shirt” design that’s smaller and more casual.
A GE spokesman told The Verge the new design was designed with a more casual look.
“It’s the best looking shirt you can buy,” said the spokesman.
“We think the George shirts are a great option.”
A spokesperson for GE said the George and the original George are still available at its website, and GE is offering a new shirt with the new logo, “Geoffrey” on the collar, in the spring.
The original George shirt was a popular option for high school and college teams, and the shirt was sold at GE’s headquarters, where it served as the “official” shirt of GE.
The George T logo is still used as a logo on some GE products, such as the GE-branded GE Appliances and GE-made GE Connected Home Appliances.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
